Aurinko Ensemble will perform with great soloists Erkki Palola, violin, and Sami Pirttilahti, bandoneon.

Last year, Aurinko Ensemble celebrated the 100 years of Argentinian composer Astor Piazzolla’s birth. For this occasion, Aurinko Ensemble performs with Finnish bandoneon player Sami Pirttilahti in one of Piazzollas most important works, Aconcagua Concerto. The programme also includes the famous piece Danzón Nr 2 by Mexican Arturo Márquez and the first performance in Europe of Argentinian composer Sebastián Gangi’s violin concerto. The last one was composed in 2019 and is based on rhythms from Argentinian folklore. The composer himself has written this version for chamber ensemble and the arrangements of the other pieces in the concert. As soloist in the violin concerto performs top violinist Erkki Palola.
