An Image and One Thousand and One Stories � 
Creative Writing Workshop by Hassan Blasim

Inside each picture are one thousand and one stories. Which of these would you choose to tell your story � your story through an image and imagination. An image itself is a work of art. Whether it is an image in the imagination or an image on a wall. 

Writing a story about an image is just an adaptation. An adaptation of life (of an image) into the world of short stories. If one can transform one image into more than a short story, can one return a short story to one image?

In the months of October and November, 2017 author Hassan Blasim will conduct a creative wrtiting workshop, themed, “An Image and One Thousand and One Stories” – a concept that explores the conditions for literary narratives in a time of image surplus . The course is free of charge and will be conducted in Arabic.
