Secret is something hidden something one cannot tell about. The word
itself is often associated with shame, fears and oddity, but also love
and vulnerability. Is hidden world something we would like to reveal?
Is
it revealing itself without trying? How to make a performance about
something we cannot say?

In Secrets, one can approach understanding of what they have not said.
This experience is based on a letter exchange and a series of
multi-sensory workshops. The workshop participants explore the acts of
hiding and revealing. Built upon drawings, sound and movement, we
invite
you to a world of secrets.

Arlene Tucker is a Taiwanese and American installation artist,
educator,
and toy and game designer interested in adding play elements to daily
life through her art. Inspired by translation studies, animals and
nature, she finds ways to connect and make meaning in our shared
environments. She has been living in Helsinki, Finland since 2011.

Emma Flt is a Finnish artist from Iisalmi. She works in the fields of
drawing, installation and performance art. Flt finds drawing to be an
act of listening, sensing and letting go. And through these acts, the
world opens up in a poetic and a surprising way. Her projects are based
on how drawing is affected by movement, sounds and different
environments. Flt lives and works in Kuopio. [1]

Flt and Tucker met in 2014 in Estonia. The cooperation was sparked by
their interest in drawing, play and translation theory, as part of the
art making process. Secrets: translating the hidden is the first joint
long-term performance, which have been taken in 2015 to work on the
theme they took, because it affects the linking of all age, gender or
background and create a delicious opportunity to plunge into their own
and the other unknown.

17-19 from 17:00-20:00.

In the workshop we will discuss what are secrets? How does the unspoken
feel? What is hidden and why? How would a secret be if it were
wordless,
singing, a sound, a movement or a drawing? How are things revealed and
what becomes of them? The group deals with the theme of sound, drawing
and movement independently and together.

Workshops are run by artists Emma Flt and Arlene Tucker who have
collected the material from which the days have been created from. They
have created actions that find, expose and cover. Through these tasks,
the written and the spoken are translated into different forms and
meanings.

Target audience: Anyone over 16 years of age
Free! Participation in the workshop reserves a seat, free of charge for
