Finnphonia Emigrantica – ten images of Finland in ten languages
What Finland looks and sounds like in Luganda , French , Romanian or Russian ? Finnphonia – Emigrantica is seeking the core of Finnish culture .
What happens when an immigrant tells of Finland in their own language? Does this sound familiar to you, a description of the sauna when it is done in a foreign language ? Does our message go through in the same way as in Finnish ? Recognizes the Finnish self? Recognizes text immigrant Finland , the Finnish ? Are there parallels to a homeland or native language ? Does the language matter in the end ? Is it enough for a simple expression to describe the feeling , the smell of the situation , or even an entire nation ?
European theater collective explores these issues in six multilingual and multicultural theater artists in Finnphonia – Emigrantica presentation.
The aim of the presentation is to study the language, the language barrier and the language barriers over and above the means of expression . It brings to the stage of Finnish writers of texts a Finn , but this time for display are Hungarian, French, Danish, Swedish, English, Swahili, Luganda , Romanian, Russian and Finnish. Presentation subtitled in Finnish .
