𝗖𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗹𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗶 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗞𝗶𝗶𝗹𝗮 𝗶𝗻𝘃𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘁𝗼 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘂𝗽𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 (part of Catalysti’s Educator’s Circle Programme). This session is facilitated by Katie Lenanton on 20.08.2022 (Saturday) and we'd love to have you there!
The Skillshare workshops bring together Kiila and Catalysti members to meet, learn from each other and share their knowledges. This workshop has place for about 10 participants and will primarily be conducted in English (but Finnish too, if and when required).
About the session:
We’ll first gather in Outo Olo (Vaasankatu 15) to meet each other, and prepare for capturing the flavours we might find in a trip to the forest using alcohol, vinegar, oil, or sugar. We’ll travel somewhere easily reached by public transport in the AB zone (example, to Mustikkamaa). We’ll get situated, wander, nibble responsibly, gather what appeals, snack, and rest. Along the way, we will think about feminist practices of foraging, awareness, slowness, alchemy, and reciprocity. There’s also time to share and learn about each other’s artistic practices. We’ll then return to Outo Olo (Vaasankatu 15) to bottle, reflect and respond to what we’ve gathered. We might also have a drink from Katie’s own archives!
About Katie:
Learning about edible organic materials is a lifelong process, so let’s recognise that Katie isn’t an “expert” by any means but has been actively learning for the past 3 years. Slowing down and being curious in the forest has been an important way for her to to mediate the demands of freelance curatorial work, and her contributions to the collective practice of Feminist Culture House. Katie will offer different resources and tools for self-directed learning, and welcomes the sharing of other experiences and knowledges. You are welcome to mail to connect with her before or after the session.
The workshop has no registration fee however you may need to prepare for the session by bringing clean glass jars etc. All the info for preparation will be sent to the registered participants by email.
