African fashion has already taken its place on international runways in New York and London and is now gradually taking a hold in Finland. What is African fashion? Find out as Ebunolowa Kivinen presents her latest collection for the festival audience.

In addition to the fashion show, Kivinen and Samia Mohamud, chief organiser of Finland’s first African fashion event African Fashion Week Helsinki (AFWH), are interviewed by Editor-in-Chief Anni Valtonen of Maailman Kuvalehti about what African fashion can bring to the Finnish street scene and mentality.

What does the future hold for African fashion in Finland and in Africa? And what about the Western recycling industry – how are local textile manufacturers affected when our used clothes are shipped to Africa?
