Ryijy: by the stream comes to VS Gallery this Spring! This installation creates a space of togetherness through words, images, and weaving. Arlene Tucker welcomes you to share your hopes, dreams, and fears, as well as, read the thoughts of others. You are free to write or draw your feelings and have a helping hand in building a collective ryijy which weaves these elements together.
The installation activates multiple ways of communication, allowing ideas to be connected and to be expanded. As VS Gallery is situated in the heart of beautiful Fiskars, we can experiment with how weaving and writing fits within the environment. Exploration is encouraged and your presence is valuable. Ryijy: by the stream-installaatio luo VS galleriaan yhteis�llisen tilan sanojen, kuvien ja kudonnan avulla. Taiteilija Arlene Tucker kutsuu sinut jakamaan toiveesi, unelmasi ja pelkosi. Piirt�misen ja luovan kirjoittamisen avulla voit sitoa salaisuutesi toiseen ja osallistua installaation sek� yhteis�llisen ryijyn luomiseen.
Installaatio aktivoi monia eri tapoja kommunikoida, saattaen ideoita yhteen sek� laajentaen niit�. Koska VS Galleria sijaitsee ihanaa Fiskarsissa, keksit��n miten kutominen ja kirjoittaminen sopii ymp�rist��n. Osallistumisesi on arvokas osa installaatiota. Tervetuloa tutustumaan ja ottamaan osaa!

Arlene Tucker is interested in adding play elements to daily life through her art. Inspired by translation studies, she explores how communication can be transposed and transformed, paving the way for unforeseen dialogue to develop. In her works, attention is given to the process of meaning making as she finds ways of connecting and understanding our shared environments.
