A two-day conference in Helsinki, Finland
Artists, writers, journalists and scholars are targets of politically motivated threats and persecution in great parts of the world. In the Nordic region there are several cities providing artists at risk a safe place to live and work for a period of time.
The conference aims at drawing the experience and know-how of the other Nordic countries to Finland, in order to involve policy makers, organisations and individuals in discussing possibilities for wider safe haven activities in the Helsinki Metropolitan Area and in other cities in Finland.
The conference Safe Haven Finland? is organised jointly by Nordic Culture Point, Hanasaari Cultural Centre, HIAP Helsinki International Artist Programme, Perpetuum Mobile and Buongiorno Helsinki.
