Nana & Felix (est.2013) is an artist duo working in Seoul and Helsinki. In different attempts at understanding what progress looks like, the artist duo have spent the last decade exploring the man-made, cultural landscape. Using a wide array of media, they produce a series of works predominantly through the reworking of urban debris and pre-existing cultural codes. The individual works come together in site specific, often architectural, installations that turn the exhibition venue into a landscape in its own right. Central to Nana & Felix’s work is seeing this fleeting moment – the exhibition – as the final artwork.

[Image description: The image shows a fragment of Nana and Felix’s latest exhibition ‘An Archaeology of Now’. A temporary construction wall divides a space dimly lit by construction lights on one side, and exhibition lights on the other. On the left hand side of the wall, a collection of found frames and photographs stack up, taking the shape of a typical old, poor and hilly neighbourhood in Seoul. On the right hangs two traditional landscape frames carrying a contemporary landscape. Next to them, continuing out of the image, mimicking abstract paintings, are a series of canvases made of fabrics normally used on construction site].
