Vivian Wong

Vivian Wong (b. 2000 Hong Kong) is an interdisciplinary artist who utilizes performance and moving imagery as her primary mediums. By intertwining poetic creation, city documentation, and experimentation across various fields, Wong explores the interconnectedness of the individual body, collective experience, and the ethics of power. Her work examines how the body acts as a symbol, reflecting and resisting societal states of aphasia.She holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Hong Kong, majoring in Comparative Literature and Hong Kong Studies, and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Live Art and Performance Studies at Uniarts Helsinki.

Wong’s work has been exhibited at venues including Caisa Gallery (Helsinki, 2025), Home Village (Taipei, 2024), Miami Art Society (US, 2024), Magazzino 26 (Italy, 2023), Mooroom (Hong Kong, 2025), HART Haus (Hong Kong, 2022), and Tomorrow Maybe (Hong Kong, 2022). Her dance film project “All Things Wise and Wonderful” (2024-) was screened at the Jumping Frames Hong Kong International Movement-image Festival 2025. The experimental short film “Temporary(+)Boundary” (2021) was featured at the 4th Groundup Student Film Festival, while her docu-narrative film “ROUTINE” (2020) received the Excellence Award at the Busan Contest Universiade 2020.

Wong has also choreographed the music video “氵、夕” by Lap Chau and participated in various theater productions as a dancer and creative performer. Her experimental theater project “The Forbidden Paper,” supported by the Felixism Creation Imagination Institute in 2023, integrates performance art, theater, and photography. Additionally, she performed in the 2023 Art Basel installation “The Constructor” by Mella Jaarsma and the 2024 Art Central performance “A Sultry World” by Sunayama Norico.

Wong has been facilitating arts education since 2022 and is certified in Dance & Movement Therapy for Caring Professionals. Her work targets a diverse range of participants, including primary and secondary school students, individuals with disabilities, and those with special needs. She adopts a collaborative learning approach, partnering with organizations such as Asia Art Archive, Hong Kong Dance Federation, and Eaton Hotel Hong Kong.
