Call for artists in the Uusimaa region!

SLOW – Seasonal Laboratories for Other Worlds is a project that explores the relationship between art making, geographies, and social organising.

The Laboratories are launching a series of public studio visits hosted in artists’ workspaces across the region!

During the events, the artists present the behind-the-scenes of their practice in conversation with a researcher, a professional, or a local project that are working on similar topics. Together, we come closer to the processes of artistic work and inhabit them as spaces of learning within and outside the arts. We will gather there where the work happens – in studios, living rooms, shared workshops, local libraries – to explore how making, imagining and learning take place alongside each other.

In collaboration with Catalysti and Globe Art Point, SLOW opens a call for artists living outside Helsinki but within the Uusimaa region.

Would you like to work with a curator and be in conversation with other fields of work and research?

Does your practice explore social questions such as identity and belonging, the politics of urban and suburban spaces, mental health, land use and alternative economies?

Are you interested in reaching out to your locality and sharing work-in-progress with your neighbours?

Apply with your portfolio by 23.8.2026 through this form.
