Come and share a story related to a food ingredient from your shopping bag in exchange for a food experience (taste, smell, texture) on Sunday 15th September at Helsinki’s open air market (Kauppatori). 

‘Taste Exchange’ is an event publicly presenting the ‘Our Cuisine = Our Stories’ project.

‘Our Cuisine = Our Stories’ is a socially engaged community project about cross-cultural food experiences. Artists Amal Laala and Sari T.M. Kivinen have facilitated workshops artistically exploring food ingredients and associations via the sharing of stories, performance exercises and food preparation. 

‘Our Cuisine = Our Stories’ brings people together to share food experiences, recipes, cook collectively, and exchange life stories. The project is connected to the simple but universal task of food preparation, a point of common understanding across all cultures.
