Rosamaria Bolom (1977 Mexico, D.F.)

Rosamaria Bolom is an artist from Mexico living in Finland. She works with the southern Mexican paper mache technique known as Cartoneria. Her battle with patriarchal representations is ubiquitous in her work. In this particular collection of masks she proposes a transformation of sorts that suggests a violent process, almost cathartic. It is her representation of the feminine where you see her conflict with her complicity.
