Singer-songwriter Ali Amran has released three solo albums and won international acclaim for reforming ethno music. Amran, born in Kabylia in the Berber region of Algeria, ingeniously mixes various genres with a rooty core based on Berber music. Elements of folk rock, blues and pop are featured. Contemporary lyrics comment the situation of the worlds in which Amran has lived in, including Algeria, Marocco and several countries in Europe.
