Yu-Hsuan Yao is a Finland based Taiwanese visual artist. She works primarily with moving
image and photography, and she also experiments with new media, for example, 360
degrees video and audiovisual performances. She explores merging cultural differences,
discusses sustainable development, and looks into social sciences in her art practices.
Yao has been selected in group exhibitions including ARS108 in Nokia, Finland, Projio in the
Finalyson Area in Tampere, Finland, and OFF Academy in Bratislava, Slovakia. She won the
first prize of 360 degrees video open calls at the DigitalBigScreen Festival (Trbovlje,
Slovenia), and second prize in 2021 under the same category.
