The “North AiR: Expanding Entanglements” residency explores environmentally conscious ways of mobility and production within the arts! We are seeking applications from Finland and Scotland based artists to undertake a fully supported extended three month residency spanning three different locations, ecologies and organisations in Finland or Scotland.
The application deadline is December 7th !
Scotland based artists please apply via https://bioartsociety.fi/projects/ars-bioarctica/calls/north-air-expanding-entanglements
Finland based artists please apply via http://www.ssw.org.uk/north-air-expanding-entanglements
The programme is delivered in partnership with MUSTARINDA, Bioart Society, KulttuuriKauppila Art Centre, Timespan and Taigh Chearsabhagh Museum and Arts Centre.
Spanning residency/arts organisations in Scotland and Finland, the residency and research cooperation fosters long term inquiries into each partner’s role and response-ability within the ecological crisis as we look towards a post-fossil culture with a trans disciplinary approach. As a key part of this research we are bringing together our resources and networks to think beyond dominant artist exchange models and look to question the role of artists’ residency in a time of climate breakdown.
We are inviting applications from artists who are based in Scotland with a view to participating in the Finnish programme, and artists based in Finland with a view to participating in the Scottish programme. Each artist will spend 3 consecutive months from April-June 2019, at each partner organisation in either Finland or Scotland.
The programme is supported by the North AiR network partners and the The Finnish Institute in London.
