What do we do and
care for?
Catalysti is a non-profit art association founded in 2013. Formed as a network of transcultural artists, we work at the intersection of activism and artistic production.
We promote member activities, organise exhibitions and events, provide networking opportunities, employment possibilities, and promote knowledge sharing between members that want to develop their craft. Diversity, inclusion, and equity are the pillars on top of which Catalysti was created and still functions today.
Membership is free, and the association’s services are catered towards contemporary visual, literary, music, dance, performance, and multidisciplinary artists, curators, and other culture professionals in Finland.
We aim to traverse the artistic borders between disciplines to cultivate a support structure for artists—engaging in programming that combines the activities and imaginations of the multitude.
Since its establishment in 2013, Catalysti has initiated, produced, and participated in over 200 art events. Since 2020, our main focus has been to further democratise our operations and move towards a more sustainable multi-voiced organisation.
By creating new working models based on transparency, paid labour, and equity, we are creating an active support environment for international cultural workers in Finland.

Catalysti has been a prominent participant in the contemporary art scene of Finland since its inception in 2013. The organization is dedicated to promoting and assisting transcultural artists and art professionals, providing its members with job opportunities through workshops, exhibitions, and event production. Catalysti prioritizes diversity, inclusion, and equity in all its endeavors.
