𝗢𝗣𝗘𝗡 𝗖𝗔𝗟𝗟 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗣𝗢𝗦𝗔𝗟𝗦 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗔 𝗛𝗘𝗟𝗦𝗜𝗡𝗞𝗜 𝗣𝗔𝗡𝗗𝗘𝗠𝗜𝗖 𝗥𝗘𝗖𝗢𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗬 𝗦𝗨𝗠𝗠𝗘𝗥 𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗝𝗘𝗖𝗧Catalysti is invited by the city of Helsinki to be part of 𝘙𝘦𝘷𝘪𝘵𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘻𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘋𝘰𝘸𝘯𝘵𝘰𝘸𝘯 - 𝘴𝘶𝘮𝘮𝘦𝘳 𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘵𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘤𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘤𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘳 (𝘒𝘢𝘥𝘶𝘵 𝘌𝘭𝘢̈𝘷𝘢̈𝘵), a COVID-19 recovery project that the city has recently received separate funding for. The project wishes to rejuvenate downtown Helsinki by re-introducing its urban landscape. The main goal is to attract Helsinki residents back to the city center with a series of cultural events and happenings that will take place from June to August this summer. Meanwhile, the project offers to support and provide opportunities for Helsinki-based freelance creative workers in the art and culture scene.𝗖𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗹𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗶 𝗶𝘀 𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿:1. Brief proposals of performance/ happening/ installation/ live art/ dance/ concert, etc. that do not require complicated set-ups, outdoor-friendly, and are interactive. The events can be nomad, using the streets, parks, and squares of the city center work as stages.2. Freelance creative workers: artists/ performers/ working group based in Helsinki.3. Proposals that align with the requirements of the 𝘙𝘦𝘷𝘪𝘵𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘻𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘋𝘰𝘸𝘯𝘵𝘰𝘸𝘯 - 𝘴𝘶𝘮𝘮𝘦𝘳 𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘵𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘤𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘤𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘳 (𝘒𝘢𝘥𝘶𝘵 𝘌𝘭𝘢̈𝘷𝘢̈𝘵) project.4. A draft proposal shall be submitted by 4.5.2022. The applicants will be informed of the results on 6.5.2022 and they are required to send a more detailed proposal by 13.2.2022.5. Catalysti artist members will be prioritized.𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗢𝗯𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀:𝘙𝘦𝘷𝘪𝘵𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘻𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘋𝘰𝘸𝘯𝘵𝘰𝘸𝘯 - 𝘴𝘶𝘮𝘮𝘦𝘳 𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘵𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘤𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘤𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘳 (𝘒𝘢𝘥𝘶𝘵 𝘌𝘭𝘢̈𝘷𝘢̈𝘵) will take place on a number of streets, public squares, parks, outdoor spaces, as well as public transportation stations in Helsinki. The main event of this project titled Summer Street (Kesäkatu) continues to its second year and will take on a lighter version this time featuring light construction of kids’ playground, street furniture, and multi-purpose podiums for people to hang out or and artists to perform, as well as greenery in the surroundings. The project involves regular Thursdays programs, kids-friendly program Children Sundays, small happenings during Juhannus, and ends with Ticket to Ride, pop-up interventions at public transport stations, and stops.𝗦𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀:1.
