WELCOME TO CONSTRUCT AN INSTALLATION TOGETHER WITH AN INTERNATIONAL TEAM OF ARTISTS

The City Ghettos of Today is a unique artistic initiative organized by 24 non-profit organizations, theatres and public bodies from 7 European cities: Paris, Warsaw, Helsinki, Berlin, Milan, Bologna and Antwerp. It unites artists from around the world with local communities of the project cities through a series of artistic workshops, performances, installations and discussions that focus on the concept of ghetto from different angles.

The installation of the City Ghettos of Today will be constructed in Helsinki in September 2014. During a twelve day period (8.-21.9.) the international team of artists coming from six European cities, including theatre directors and sound and video artists will direct the construction of the installation in cooperation with the local people. Before Helsinki the installation has been constructed in Paris, Warsaw and Bologna.

The installation will be built in Cultural Centre Stoa in It�keskus, between 9.-19.9, combined with workshops. It will combine sounds, videos and live performances made by citizens living in Helsinki

If you are interested in joining the process of building the installation in cooperation with an international team of artists coming to Helsinki in September, you can send your inscription to , at the latest on the August 31st. Max 25 local participants can participate in the building team in order of inscription.
