Helsinki, Free Art Space
Every artist has faced this problem that s/he realises far less than conceived. It can be connected with the lack of resources, finances or motivation. Some postpone ideas for the better times. Some are suffering under this load.
The concept of the authorship was seriously questioned by the poststructuralism focused on the dominance of meaning formative text upon an author’s individuality. These days, rough competitive conditions of cognitive capitalism drive back to the individualism. The irony is how by the name of the one artist can work an entire enterprise.
In the frames of a constant psychological and financial stress the very process of creation, and mainly, the pleasure from the creation process, severely suffer.
We believe that art not only serves to fulfil the growing demands of art-market, we believe in the power of meaning. That’s why the unrealised ideas must live!
If you want to drop an idea
Those artists who want their ideas to be reanimated
can choose one of the three options.
1. Free circulation
An author gives an idea away anonymously and free of charge. An idea is alienated from its creator. In this case, the one who chose an idea signs an agreement to complete it. This agreement presumes a full description of an idea without mentioning of its author. If an idea is realised into a project, an idea’s author can’t refer to it, mention in one’s CV and obtain royalties.
2. A right to complete
An author gives away an idea by his/ her name. In this case, the one who chose an idea signs an agreement to complete it. This agreement presumes a full description of an idea with an inevitable mentioning of an author in all future realisations of an idea. If an idea is realised into a project, an idea’s author can refer to it, mention in one’s CV, but not obtain royalties.
An author gives away an idea by his/ her name to find a collaborator to work together. In this case, the one who chose an idea signs an agreement which presumes a full description of an idea with the mentioning of an idea’s author, with whom one needs to contact within one month. If it doesn’t happen, a contract dissolute. If an idea is realised into a collaborative project, both sides can mention it in their CV’s and agree on financial conditions.
