Ulla Prami (born 1982) lives and works in Helsinki. She graduated as an Architect in Aalto School of Arts, Design, and Architecture in 2010, and as a contemporary artist from Art School MAA in 2023.
Through the use of frequently intense color palettes, her paintings and multidisciplinary artworks explore concepts of memory and myth with the intention to meditate on subtle feelings behind interpersonal events. Themes include (among others) corporeality, construction sites, portraits of artists who have been arrested because of their art—and recently—sound art. The exhibitions “Hälytys” and “Of Sound” continued her conceptual interest in authority and contextuality. Recent solo exhibitions include Studio El Sur (México City), Galerie Pleiku (Berlin) and The Hug Studio (Madrid), where she was also an artist in residence.
Her works have been exhibited in many group shows in Helsinki including the Cable Factory, Exhibition Laboratory, Oksasenkatu Gallery, Third Space Gallery, Galleria Kookos and the Museum of Finnish Architecture.
