I am an Oslo-native and Norwegian-Canadian composer. I was partly raised in Toronto, in Northern Norway and in my hometown. And now, I split my time between Helsinki, Tallinn and Oslo. I hold a master’s degree from the Norwegian Academy of Music and am currently completing a PhD degree in composition at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre.

Growing up between cultures, my vastly diverse language background has been a driving force in my music. The phonetic and semantic meeting points of Scandinavian, Chinese and Finno-Ugric languages have been an important source of creativity in finding musical and conceptual materials in my works. I focus mainly on genres of song, music theatre, opera, pseudo-religious music and conceptual music where the human voice, in one way or another, is the core of the performance.
