My practice initially started with experimenting surfaces; often these surfaces were created on canvases that were made to look like walls, stone and floor. I was interested in replicating surfaces that I observed all around me. After graduating in Painting from National College of Arts in Pakistan, I pursued my career working in the gaming industry as an artist while also extensively showing my work nationally and internationally. In 2011 I moved to Finland to pursue to study a master’s degree from Aalto University, School of Art, Design and Architecture from Media Lab.
The medium of my practice, which was earlier restricted to drawing on two dimensional surfaces, evolved and changed due to my extensive exposure to the digital world. Although I love to paint with mediums such as ink and stains, my work interestingly falls between both experimental drawing and digital imagery that is informed of traditional drawing practice. My intentions are to explore further this content in the realm of the digital world, as it communicates to its audience aesthetically in a very unique manner.
