Roy Boswell is a half-British, half-Finnish artist and writer from Helsinki. His work is comprised of a variety of time-based forms (text, sound, light, installation, performance, video) and some ceramics. He is interested in social engagement in his work, and uses art as a tool for the documentation of (shared) memory, imagination and lived experiences.
Currently central to his practice is the development of his own contemporary audio drama language and ways of ‘recording’ composition and performance.
In addition, Roy also works as a sound designer and sound dramatist in contemporary dance, theatre and performance. These collaborative works and his own lecture-performances and audio plays have been shown as part of exhibitions, events, festivals and broadcasts in Finland, the UK, Germany, Kurdistan and Australia, to name a few.
