Rute Morais Peixoto is a Portuguese award-winning artist and architect based in Helsinki, Finland.
Rute’s multidisciplinary practice is highly focused on the emotional, sensorial, and perceptive experience, ranging from media art to illustration, interior and building design, teaching, and songwriting.
She holds an MArch with distinction from the Faculty of Architecture of Porto, Portugal (2015) and the Fakulteta za Arhitekturo in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Rute collaborated with Pritzker Prize Laureates Eduardo Souto de Moura and Álvaro Siza Vieira, as well as Fala Atelier, and Eero Lundén. She taught summer school at FAUP (2012) and building design at Aalto University School of Arts (2022).
Since 2022, Rute has been developing “Living Rooms” with the support of the Arts Promotion Centre Finland, which awarded her two consecutive working grants (2021-22). The project centers around creating audiovisual portraits exploring the relationships we establish with rooms that are important to us.
