Shweta Dash

I am a textile artist and material researcher working at the intersection of craft, science, and storytelling. Through weaving, bio-based coatings, and experimental processes like salt crystallization and cellulose exploration, I create tactile narratives that look at memory, ecology, and the relationships we form with materials. My practice is rooted in hands-on experimentation, from developing acoustic textile coatings in collaboration with Aalto’s Acoustics Lab to studying the behaviour of salt and ice during my HIAP residency. Alongside my studio work, I host workshops, contribute to circular textile initiatives, and build community projects that question how materials shape culture and lived experience.
