Catalysti is launching a mentorship programme for artists who would like to be matched with a professional from the Catalysti association. This includes artists from any discipline such as performance, music, writing or visual arts. This programme strives to support artists who have recently arrived in Finland and need some help and information to start working here.Artists know all too well how important it is for people to share their networks and foster lines of communication.
Mentees will be matched with a mentor from the same art field who feels established in the Finnish scene. Together they will agree on the goals to reach.
As a mentee, you will receive personal advice and support from somebody who cares. We hope that the programme engineers new friendships and connections to support your working life in Finland. We also maintain the importance of safer space policy and will make sure that the board of Catalysti is available if any needs are not being met through the programme. Communication between participants should be welcoming and engaging, and we encourage everyone to be proactive in creating an atmosphere where the safety and equity of others are affirmed.
Structure and how to apply
Because this is a pilot programme, it will be limited to three mentees. First come, first serve.
The programme will start as soon as all participants have been finalized, and will last for six months. The mentor and the mentee will meet once a month for 2-3 hours. One initial meeting and one end meeting with the coordinator will be held to give all the information.
This programme is free of charge.
To apply, please send a short motivation letter (maximum one A4 page) to Tanya Tynjälä.
