Catalysti Annual General Meeting 2018

Dear Catalysti Artists,

You´re warmly welcome to Catalysti Annual General Meeting:

On Monday May 14th at 17:00

At Thirsty Scholar, Fabianinkatu 37 Helsinki

It is important that most of you will attend, as it is the moment of the year to elect the new board: see you there!

If you are not in Helsinki or cannot attend the meeting, please delegate your vote to another Catalysti member who can be present. You can do it via email or sms, the text will have to be printed and/or shown at the beginning of the meeting.

At the agenda: 

1. Introduction and approval of the audited accounts of the previous operational year (2017) and the annual report. 

2. Introduction and approval of the action plan and budget for 2018. 

3. Nomination of candidates for the new board: chairperson, vice-chairperson, secretary, treasurer. Nomination of two-three other members plus two-three reserve board members.

Candidates: Ebulonowa Kivinen, Gian Majidi, Mariam Haji, Paola Livorsi, Tatiana Solovieva, Uzair Amjad.  

4. Nomination of candidates for an auditor and a reserve auditor(s).

5. Other matters concerning the future plans of the association.

The Catalysti Board

Caisa selection of Catalysti artists

Following Catalysti application, Caisa will present two live art works by Catalysti artists:

MIRROR, MIRROR SEES THEM ALL, multimedia performance by Nadja Pärssinen, Roberto Pugliese and Virpi Velin.

RED ROOM, sound performance by Jaap Klevering.

The live art event “Big Brothers and Sisters”, on a concept by Victor X, will take place in Caisa new venue, Leipätehdas, Helsinki, in October 2018.

Open call for Caisa: results

Catalysti board chose the following projects, for the application to Caisa “Big Brothers and Sisters”, autumn 2018:

Open call for Caisa opening autumn 2018

Dear artists,

Catalysti is joining forces to apply to Caisa re-opening in autumn 2018, in the new premises in Kallio. You�re invited to send proposals on the theme “Big Brothers and Sisters”, proposed by our fellow artist Victor X:

 “It doesn’t have to be limited by Orwell’s horrors. The AI is coming into our lives slowly but surely. It is adding something substantially new. Watch our kids talking to their Siris and Alices, this is a brave new world” (Victor X). 

So the theme is about AI – Artificial Intelligence and its many implications in nowadays world. We are looking for: 

– artworks using AI: poetry, music, visual and media art, performance art

– works of human artists either inspired by or related to AI art

– human artists’ art works that remind of the main purpose of AI services – mass surveillance

We plan to propose:

 – a program for a live art event (4-5 artists)

– a proposition for a small exhibition, with 1-2 performance art interventions (4 visual artists + 1-2 performance artists)


The events will be funded in collaboration with Caisa. The period spans from September-December 2018, more details will be communicated later. 

This open call does not prevent you from applying to Caisa on an individual basis, if you wish to. 

Please send your proposition, with a written description of the project/art work and a technical rider (min. 350 words) and your CV to before 4.2.2018.
